Our Temple History
吾宫历史
Tian Gong Tan Zhao Ling Gong Temple is located at 62 Jurong West St 41, within the central hall of Jurong West United Temple. With humble beginnings as a Heavenly Altar dedicated to the Jade Emperor in 1917 along Old Clementi Road (today Sunset Way area), the Heavenly Altar later hosted The Heavenly Lady of the Nine Heavens and Lords Zhu, Xing, and Li invited to Singapore by the Koh family from Fujian Province, Quanzhou Prefecture, Anxi County, Matou Village.
Due to urban development, our temple was resettled to our present location in Jurong West in 1992, and officially registered as Tian Gong Tan Zhao Ling Gong Temple in 1993. After much support from the villagers, devotees and the public, the construction of our new temple in Jurong West was completed and our temple officially opened, in 1996.
Dedicated to the worship of The Jade Emperor (Tian Gong), The Heavenly Lady of the Nine Heavens (Jiu Tian Xuan Nü) and Lords Zhu, Xing, and Li; our current temple also hosts other deities such as Thousand Hands Guanyin, Tai Sui, Celestial Armies of the Five Directions, Confucius and Celestial Dog. The Heavenly Lady of the Nine Heavens, of our temple, traces her lineage to her over 600 years old main temple in Anxi County, which is dedicated to Avatar Hu Xian Ying of the early Ming Dynasty. This is well documented in the ‘Anxi Locality Gazette’.
Today, our temple stands as a sacred site, hosting many Taoist events and celebrations open to the public. Visitors to the temple can witness a living tradition spanning more than a century, while its serene ambience offers spiritual seekers with peace of mind. ‘天公坛昭灵宫’位于裕廊西 41 街 62 号，裕廊西联合宫中殿内。‘天公坛’始建于 1917 年，最初是一座供奉玉皇大帝的天坛，位于旧金文泰路的乡村 (现日落大道地区)，后来受福建省泉州府安溪县码头村许氏家族请神来乡村，在此也供奉九天玄女以及朱、邢、李三府大人。
由于市区发展，吾宫于1992年搬迁至裕廊西现址，并于1993年正式注册为‘天公坛昭灵宫’。在村民、信众和公众的大力支持下，吾宫新所于1996年在裕廊西落成并正式开幕。
吾宫供奉玉皇大帝（天公）、九天玄女、以及朱、邢、李三府大人；现庙还供奉其他神祇，如千手观音、太岁、五营兵将、孔子以及天犬。吾宫九天玄女的派系可追溯至安溪县已有600余年历史的主庙，该主庙供奉明初的胡先英真仙。 《安溪县志》对此有详尽的记载。
